Jack's Boys and His Toys!

Jack has been a busy boy lately - absolutely L.O.V.I.N.G. the outside! He can't wait to go outside and can't stand to come in. He's becoming more independent and wanting to explore things by himself. For instance, I used to be able to set him on the back patio and plop a few trucks in front of him and he wouldn't dare get off the patio into the grass. Now.... not the case. He beelines it for the side of the house where he has a new playset (pictures to come in another post). He was also very good about staying in the driveway and not venturing down towards the road. He was afraid of the change in elevation and steepness of the driveway.... as of today, that is no longer true. Bottomline = he must be watched... closely.

His new favorite game is rolling balls, pushing trucks, or throwing things down the steep drive, just to watch them go into the street or roll into our neighbor Velma's yard. Then like today, he expects someone else to go down and get them, bring them back up, and for him to do it again. This next picture is of my dad at the end of the drive and Jack at the top, rolling a truck back and forth. Let me tell ya, this is a good workout for the person doing all the retrieving!

Speaking of trucks, he loves pretending to drive the "real" trucks. He begs to get behind the wheel of any parked vehicle and take the steering wheel into his hands.

Trucks/cars/motorcycles are ALL the rage at our house. Big trucks, little trucks, hot wheels cars, and toy motorcycles just to name a few. He carries them everywhere, brings them home from Michelle's house (his sitter), speaks of them even before he opens his eyes in the morning and cries for them in the car. Out of the many things he received in his 3 (yes count them THREE Easter baskets) his favorite was his hot wheel cars and a motorcycle that he affectionately pronounces "awkle".

The evening is our most enjoyable time spent with our little guy. For some reason 8:30 (right after bathtime) until bedtime is the absolutely wonderful. He plays with his cars, says the darnedest things (like "Hey Cutie"), and is our nightly entertainment. Here he is climbing on the coffee table to get to (what else?...) his trucks!

Jack has found many new toys to play with since the weather has gotten warmer. Jess and I feel like we have spent a small fortune (which we are thankful to have the resources to do) on preparing our lawn, landscaping and the future enjoyment of our outside space.

This is a new project that Jess and I worked on in our bedroom. We call it the "Many Faces of Jack". He classic and oh so true of his expressions on a daily basis. Jess didn't like the artwork that was in these frames, or the color of the frames for that matter, so we changed it up a bit.

On to the initial title of this post... Jack's boys. Lately Jack cannot get enough of the men in his life. He squeals for both Papa's, yells for Cork and Kruger (my parent's neighbor's dog), calls both uncles by name, and absolutely adores his daddy. He still loves sleeping with mommy in the early morning, but it MUST be Daddy when he is ready to take his bottle and go to bed. Here are a few recent pictures with Uncle Graham and his Daddy.
